Adaptive Skier Access Information
It is illegal to deny disabled iSkibike riders access to any resort ski lifts and runs. While some ski resorts restrict use of ski bikes on their slopes, Federal and State laws ban discrimination against persons with disabilities. Thus, public ski resorts can not restrict or forbid any adaptive ski equipment, including ski bikes. Resort policies must be waived to provide adaptive access for disabled persons using a ski bike.
"[D]iscrimination includes a failure to make reasonable modifications in policies, practices, or procedures . . . necessary . . . [for the] accommodation [of] individuals with disabilities . . ." Americans with Disabilities Act - Definitions.
