Features and Benefits
Foot Skis with BrakesiSkibike foot skis have tails reinforced with a sharpened "heel-edge" component which can dig into the snow and hardpack to provide incredible braking power. They give beginners and persons with disabilities the ability to go their own speed and they provide experienced ski bikers a level of control unlike any other foot skis on the market.
|
State-of-the-Art Skis
iSkibike uses releasable downhill ski bindings to attach skis to the ski bike allowing you to choose which skis to use. Use the proper skis to match snow conditions or upgrade to the newest skis when they come on the market. As with downhill skiing, the best skis provide the best fun.
|
Safe Design
iSkibike incorporates on-slope runaway prevention into the front and rear suspension systems plus skis are attached to the iSkibike with releasable ski bindings. On the chairlift, riders sit on the iSkibike preventing it from falling off onto others. Together with runaway protection, the need for a leash between the rider and the iSkibike is eliminated providing a simpler, safer, "leash-free" skiing experience.
|
Smooth Ride
iSkibike has a full suspension that gives a smooth terrain-absorbing ride. The progressive rear suspension has 8 inches of seat travel supported by fully dampened shock absorbers. The front suspension is provided by air pressure adjustable downhill mountain bike forks with 4 to 6 inches of travel.

FAQ
Do Ski areaS allow ski bikes?
Adaptive skiers are entitled to access all resort ski runs and lifts. Regardless what the resort ski bike policy states, it is against the law to deny access for iSkibikes or any other adaptive ski equipment. Courts have enforced the right of disabled individuals to choose ski bikes for their adaptive skiing equipment.
For recreational skibikers, the American SkiBike Association maintains an extensive list of ski resorts that allow ski bikes. Should I leash the ski bike while skiing?
The manufacturer of iSkibike strongly recommends that a leash NOT be used between the rider and the ski bike while skiing downhill. iSkibike does not need a leash. It won't run away down the slopes without a rider. The design and engineering of iSkibike mitigates that danger. But there is a big danger to the rider having the leash pull the equipment onto them during a fall. Don't attach a strap or leash between you and the iSkibike while skiing downhill. Should I leash the ski bike while riding the chairlift?
The manufacturer of iSkibike recommends that a leash NOT be used while riding the chairlift. The iSkibike will not fall off the chairlift. The rider sits on the ski bike on the chairlift and the chairlift safety-bar secures both the rider and the ski bike on the chair. Using a leash is not necessary to keep the bike from falling off the lift but using a leash is dangerous to the rider should it get snagged on the chairlift during the loading or unloading process. Don't attach a strap or leash between either you and the iSkibike or between the chair and the iSkibike while riding on the chairlift. Which Organizations offer adaptive skiers access to iSkibikes?
iSkibike is being used by several adaptive ski programs serving both disabled military veterans and non-veterans.
What are adaptive skier finance options for iSkibike?
iSkibike manufacturer Shroombob LLC offers a substantial discount to persons with disabilities needing adaptive equipment. See the iSkibike Adaptive Discount.
The Veterans Administration will purchase iSkibikes for disabled veterans' personal use. Successful applicants must have support of their medical team and therapists. It can be problematic finding the proper forms on the VA web site so we have included them here.
The following private charities offer assistance for disabled military veterans, and/or non-veterans, to purchase recreational and sports equipment, including iSkibikes:
