Shroombob, LLC is the manufacturer of the iSkibike, a skibob as they call them in Europe. iSkibike is a sit-down ski bike used with small foot skis. iSkibike was specially designed for adaptive skiing (see Our Story). But the ski bike performs really well. The iSkibike experience is great fun for anyone whether they have a disability or not.

The nature of this adaptive bi-ski makes it extremely easy to learn to ski beginner runs, yet challenging to master on more difficult runs, both on and off piste.

Disabled individuals are typically able to ski easier downhill ski runs on their first day, and after mastering the learning curve, are able to ski "on-piste" groomed runs and "off-piste" powder and crud runs.

The device has a unique "4-bar" suspension system, with 8 inches of seat travel, that allows the disabled individual to fully ride on the iSkibike, while their feet need only float lightly on the snow surface using very short foot-mounted skis to maintain balance.

This patented design allows the disabled individual to load and unload chairlifts, while fully seated on the iSkibike.
Throughout the design and patenting process Shroombob has focused on adapting old school downhill ski equipment concepts by innovating an entirely new and creative downhill ski device to accommodate and facilitate downhill skiing for disabled individuals. Shroombob continues to further improve the design of the iSkibike through user input.

Unfortunately, the Shroombob name proved controversial because 'shroom' is also a nickname for mushrooms, and particularly psilocybin mushrooms. Go figure!  
To avoid this unfortunate controversy in 2010, iSkibike was chosen as the marketing name best communicating the trailblazing, groundbreaking, and snowshattering nature of the skiing equipment being sold.

Shroombob, LLC is fully owned and operated by Robert Kolesar, who holds a B.S. Degree in Engineering from Montana Sate University in Bozeman, Montana, and a J.D. Degree in Law from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts. Bob also has training and experience in emergency medicine and avalanche hazard evaluation.
For the last 55 years, Bob has skied extensively both at ‘front country’ ski areas and resorts, and at ‘back country’ sites throughout the U.S., including helicopter skiing out of Valdez, Alaska. Bob combined his engineering expertise with his intimate knowledge of skiing to develop the iSkiBike design, creating the only skibike that “carves” downhill ski turns.
